Hi everyone,
The brand name might not ring a bell to you just yet but I'm sure you've already known what I am talking about based on the featured item: eyewear. I've announced in the previous blog entry that my blog is in finalist of 3 categories this year: Best Fashion Blog, Levi's 501 Best Interpretation Blog and lastly Glossi Best Modeling Blog.
What is the "Glossi Best Modeling Blog" about anyway? Basically, it's a category for any blog that focuses on Modeling the latest style and fashion trend. Bloggers must have experience in writing reviews on fashion clothing and accessories as well as modeling and posing them. And when I knew my blog was shortlisted to Top 10 in this category, I was told to pick up any 2 pairs of of Glossi glasses from Nanyang Optical to wear and to review.
Just to give you more information about Nanyang Optical, they started as a lens grinding and edging workshop in Singapore in the 1950s. From this modest beginning, Nanyang has grown to become one of Singapore's largest optical retails. They have some exclusive house brands like Urband, Eyelet, Linkskin and Glossi is one of them.
I hadn't heard anything about Glossi eyewear before at all, so I really had no idea what to expect besides some images on their website. But as soon as I arrived at Nanyang Optical store, I was so overwhelmed with many colorful glasses displayed in front of me. After trying many different pairs with different colors, sizes, shapes and judging them at the comfort level, I picked 2 pairs of glasses. One is the red glasses (the photo above) and the other pair will soon be shown to you in the next blog post
I still remember when I found out I was short-sighted 15 years ago, the only reason for me to get a pair of glasses was to give me better vision, nothing else. I didn't even care about the frame size, shape or color as long as it's cheap and good, I would just buy it.
NOW?
Things has evolved so quickly. Eyewear is no longer just an eyewear, it's fashion accessories and sometimes a statement. Looking at the big variety of colorful and vibrant eyewear designs, I knew that I need to update myself.
Last week, I decided to take my Glossi eyewear out for a full day of meetings with me and let everyone give some comments before I made the complete review on my blog just in case you would say I'm bias.
Here is my first outfit pairing with Glossi eyewear for a business women look.
My first impression of the Glossi eyewear was: "Why is it so light?". It is so light that sometimes I even forget I'm wearing the glasses. It DOES NOT give me the pain behind my ears and the pressure on my nose bridge like many other glasses do. I'm not sure if you experience the same thing but I'm telling you it IS annoying.
Applying same color rule, I decided to wear color-block (red & purple) to compliment this vibrant and eyecatching eyewear.
Get a closer look at the Glossi eyewear, you'll find the frame is very unique. Glossi's frames are made from strong and flexible Nylon Compound to give comfort and near-weightless pressure on the face. That explains why all the Glossi eyewears are so light.
Also, I love how the Nylon Compound gives the frames a glossy finish and enhances the durability.
There is also an unique coating applied to the frames-front to create reflective patterns and colors on the frame, giving it a contrasting look i.e the one I'm having here with black and red contrast.
Doesn't it look so youthful, fashionable and chic? I couldn't think of any other eyewear brand I've worn that gave me so much stylishness and comfort.
When I first look at Glossi eyewear, I was told that this is going to be the "Head- turner" piece, I didn't believe. But now, after wearing them for more than a week, I can assure you that you can get all attention you want with just a pair of Glossi eyewear.
