I have to say, I'm not very good at packing for a trip, especially for a long trip. I always forget my personal items, and only realize that after I check into a hotel. My packing skill has been improved recently, as I travel more often than I used to. Instead of putting myself in a miserable situation oversea for forgetting important things, I choose to bring extra stuffs just in case. Love traveling, but hate packing!
Trust me when I say packing for Fashion Week was the most challenging, and overwhelming task. Ever! I wanted to bring my whole closet with me, yet I could only put them all into two 25kg luggages. Besides my clothes, #shoes were the second most important items that I had to get them ready one week before my trip. I prepared 7 different outfits for 6 day shows, and planned to bring 7 pairs of shoes to match with the outfits.
The first thing I did when I checked into Park Central New York hotel was unpacking my shoes, and arranging them nicely. I realized that I brought more shoes than I thought. Last day in New York, I even bought one pair of chain booties from ZARA. It was a love at the first sight when I saw that booties, and I couldn't say no.
Learning from what Carrie Bradshaw said in Sex in the City "I like my money right where I can see it... Hanging in my closet", when I travel, I'd like my money right where I can see it first thing in the morning... Placing them next to my bed, in my hotel room, of course.
