Nobody can deny the fact that Porsche Design is a master of bold, strong, futuristic, and sophisticated fashion. If September last year, Porsche Design senior fashion designer Pierre Costin gave the audience a goosebump with his "Zentech" collection, this February, he continued to impress us with the "U/Dys- Topia" collection. The designer went dark for this season, offering us a new take on the modern uniform, using cutting-edge fabrics, and construction techniques to create a strong yet sensual silhouettes for women and structured textured looks for men.
Playing with the most neutral colors: black, camel, grey, and army green, Pierre Costin reminded us of how powerful basic colors can be through his collection. It's the type of clothes that confident people love wearing. For women, he focuses on a sexy shape with a strong shoulder and nipped waist. A corset belt is seen throughout the show, being paired with an oversized wool coat, midi skirt, and cropped pants to emphasize the hourglass silhouette. For men, on the other hand, the designer works his magic on structure, texture, and layering. From a quilted vest to banded blazer, from a leather trench coat to a grey pants suit, everything has some futuristic elements going on.
From the firs time I watched the show in New York Fashion Week 2014, I knew Porsche Design will continue making great clothes that give a wearer a sense of self-confidence and strength. This Fall-Winter collection is a perfect example proving my point.
Have a look!
