I was so reluctant to publish this blog post since New York Fashion Week was already 3 months behind us, but when I thought of the wonderful memories I had this year, I felt guilty for keeping them all to myself. This was my THIRD time attending NYFW! (It's crazy to see how fast time flies.). Every time, I always said the same thing "I'm not going to New York Fashion Week this year, because of so and so." I would list down 10 reasons why I should not go and I ended up still leaving on a jet plane at the last minute. Then, I told my boyfriend the same sentence when I returned "It's AMAZING! It's better than the year before."
If you follow my stories about the first and second New York Fashion Week, you would agree with me. Why this year is even better than the previous two fashion weeks? We shall find out!
Let's start it off with this million-dollar view from a luxury apartment, where my friend, Theambitionista & I had a chance to stay in.
I can wake up to this view every day.
Right after arriving in the city, I quickly changed my outfit, put on some makeup, and headed out to catch the first fashion show of the day- Desigual S/S 2017.
My secret of looking cool and fashion-week ready after flying 24hours across the world is big sunglasses and an outfit that shine bright like a diamond.
Love every piece in Desigual S/S 17 collection.
Day 2 began with a delicious breakfast with my friend before we went about our day.
In between the shows, we quickly grabbed our chance to have a street style shoot. I brought some sunshine to New York with a yellow cape jumpsuit I wore on day 2.
The Tadashi Shoji SS17 collection is beautiful like a dream.
I love all the lace and embroidered details in the Tadashi Shoji's collection so much, I decided to create my own version with an all-black outfit on day 3. It was a lace affair kind of day.
Escaped the New York Fashion Week to attend the Style Fashion Week and to support an Amercian-Vietnamese fashion designer, Danny Nguyen, who I have the honor to call a friend. Love this white and gold collection!
A little skin goes a long way on day 4.
It was a long and exciting day! I started my day at 7am, had my breakfast, got my hair and makeup done, and spent some time at the backstage with the makeup extraordinaire, Bobbi Brown.
She is such a beautiful woman inside and out. Although she was busy getting the models ready for Jenny Packham SS17 fashion show, she was very happy to share with us so many great beauty tips, which I already shared with you in this blog post in case you want to know. It's such a great honor to meet Bobbi in person and I can't thank my dear friend TheAmbitionishta enough for this opportunity.
After hair and makeup, it's show time. Jenny Packham has always been one of my favorite designers from London. I love her whimsical and romantic designs and it felt like a dream watching her show from the front row like this.
Day 5, I went back to my Black and White mood with a white chiffon top and wide-leg pants.
Front row at Leanne Marshall SS17 fashion show. It was my third time attending Leanne Marshall's show. Each time, she always surprises me with her creativities and talents.
What's in my bag during Fashion Week, you ask? Lots of invitations, tickets, a lipstick, a portable charger, and of course, a phone.
Ending my day 5 of fashion week with a girl's night out with my babes, Miju (left) from Baggirlproblems and Aysia (right). It was such a fun night with great wine, good food, and lots of laughter.
But the best is yet to come. My day 6, 7, and 8 of fashion week was so amazing that they went beyond my expectations. I can't wait to share with you in the next blog post. Stay tuned!
