{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: THE PRETTY HAT

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: THE PRETTY HAT

Hats used to be one of my favorite accessories when I was in high school. But sadly, I don't have much chance wearing them very often now. You can probably count how many times I've featured a hat in this blog. Not more than 5 times. Not because I no longer like them, I think they always look so chic and cute, but rather due to the inconvenience at work when I have to meet 4- 5 clients in a day, I have no choice but to wear hat only when I go for an event, travel or when I get off from work.

It was so exciting that last week, I had a perfect excuse to dress up a little bit more dramatic (than usual) with my hat at the Longines Singapore Gold Cup. As elegant cocktail dress code with hats was a requirement, I had no reason why not to go all the way to be creative and to have fun with it. Getting a cocktail dress was a piece of cake but getting a right hat to go well with it was indeed, a challenge to me. Nevertheless, the challenge didn't last very long as Eskpade came to offer me their limited-less choice of hats to chose from. Better still, they even customized a hat to match with ANY dress that I would want to wear on that day.

I picked a satin V-neck empire waist floral tank dress out of my wardrobe, took the photo of the dress and sent to Kristine (owner of Eskpade). 2 days later, she sent me back a photo of the headpiece that she personally hand-made it just for me, I was hooked. By the way, the headpiece that you are seeing on this blog entry is what I'm talking about. It's the best dress-hat combo that I've ever seen/ worn. It's close to perfection, isn't it?

I told her once and I'm going to repeat it again: My dress was NOTHING without this headpiece. Never thought of a small headpiece could make such a great difference on the outfit.  I had great time at the Longines event, received a lot of compliments from different people on my outfit and I couldn't feel more proud of telling them how did we come up with the whole idea. It was fun, fulfilling, spontaneous and that's exactly what Fashion is all about. Take a look at the photos below!

Special thank to Eskpade for the sponsorship!

P/s: If you are looking for a gorgeous headpiece to attend an event, Eskpade is the right place you to visit. Tell them what you are looking for, what you are planning to wear (just like me), they'll come up with a perfect headpiece that you can never find it anywhere else. Good luck!

{CRYSTAL'S CLOSET}: FLORAL PRINT

Hi everyone,

This is going to be a very short blog entry from me as I only have 1 hour left before heading to the airport. I'm going to Houston tonight if some of you already heard me mentioning on Facebook/ Twitter a week ago. It was a crazily busy day for me today. I had only 9 hours to finish my 3 meetings in the afternoon, to get my nails done, to buy a laptop bag and of course to pack. Well, guess what? I completed all the tasks in 7 hours only. I'm so proud of my multi-tasking skill, lolz.

Now, when I'm having some time to relax and not to worry about anything. I START FEELING EXCITED about this trip! My boyfriend has been asking me many time "Are you excited?" but I was too occupied with things to feel anything. The only one thing that I'm not excited about: 28 hours flight :(.

I'll keep you guys posted whenever I can, but til the next blog entry (which I don't know when), here is the outfit post for you:

I wore this floral bodycon dress to work and finished it with a blazer for a semi-formal look. My job requires me to meet with many advertisers, clients, sponsors in a day so dressing up formally is usually a must. Fortunately, I don't have to strictly follow black pants- white shirt kinda corporate outfit everyday, so I have my freedom to wear whichever is appropriate and looks good on me.

This is one example.

Turquoise & gold arm-swag.

A big smile for the day.

And the super sweet floral handbag from Kate Spade.

Oh, I also managed to find my old statement necklace which happens to match with the colors of the flowers.

When taking off the blazer, this would by the type of outfit I will wear for the night out.

What do you think about this semi-formal outfit? Please leave me some comments in the comment section below.

That's all for today, guys. It's time for me to go to airport, I'll talk to you guys real soon.
Muahxxxx
Love,
Crystal

Crystal's Closet: Pastel and Floral

Hi everyone!

Believe it or not, I'm actually writing this blog entry using my iPad and while I'm in the car moving around. This is so tedious but I have no choice as I won't be using my Laptop for the next 3 days. I'm on my way to Shangri La Hotel right now. Hope everyone has a great weekend too.

Below are some quick shots for my today outfit, taken when I was waiting for my client.

Today outfit is all about pastel colors (white, light pink, light turquoise). They are so sweet and girly. Recently I'm opt to vibrant and bold colors but I must say pastel colors are always my favorite too. They just make you feel so relaxing and refreshing. But somehow, very seldom you see me in pastel outfits, I know. I can't explain. Anyway, today you did.

Here are what I wear today.

Crystal's Closet: Print on print

I had really fun time shooting at Orchard Road with my girls today. The most challenging part was when we had to wait for everyone passed by and the road was clear. It's not because I was shy or worried if anyone looking at me, it's because we couldn't get a clear background to make the outfit stand out (You'll know what I mean later). And so, we had to stop any moment there was any passerby.

At last, we managed to capture some good shots here and it took us only 15 minutes to finish. I'm so pleased!

Tired of my jeans & shirt outfit yet after 3 days? Here is a sweet change for you.

I decided to wear skirt today and tulip skirt was my pick as this is one of my favorite styles besides pencil and peplum skirt. Tulip skirt is perhaps one of the most wearable pieces for anyone, any body type, size and shape. It's like an up-side-down version of its namesake. If you have pear body shape, this is an ideal skirt type for you. I love how the material cinches the waistline, relaxes around the buttocks and tapers to hug the legs at the hemline. And whenever I feel like being lazy and still appearing girl at the same time, I'll grab the tulip skirt.  This is how I wore my favorite printed tulip skirt today.

Floral printed tulip skirt with floral printed shirt. Print on print!

Myself with an empty road.

And with many people walking by. The photo looks so busy huh?
Now you know what I meant by taking photo with clear background is always better :D.

Applying my modeling poses into fashion ootd shoot is not a hard thing, don't you think?

::Outfit::
Shirt: Brooks Brother
Skirt: ZARA (similar here)
Suede pumps: Milanoo
Accessories: Swarovski watch (similar here) - bracelet (similar here

That's about all. What did you wear today? What is your favorite skirt type? Please send me the link of your ootd at the comment section below, I love viewing them and reading your feedback.
Thank you very much for reading again. Now, I need to think of what to wear tomorrow! :D
Good night to me, good morning to you!
Love,
Crystal
